Fiberglass shower pans are for the bathrooms that just do not have any room in them. These take up much less space as compared to installing a complete shower or bathtub. The pan is positioned right under the showerhead and collects the water so it does not spill all over the floor. These are simple to clean up after each shower that is taken. The wonderful thing about fiberglass is it does not crack and is almost next to impossible to break.

There are four different kinds of fiberglass shower pans that you can choose from. The standard fiberglass shower pan is pretty basic. It is a rectangular pan that has a variety of dimensions for any spot that you need to place it in. The water will flow to the center of the pan where it will be sucked down the pipes. With this pan there is no need to worry about erosion or much build up of dirt since it is free from uneven corners.

The corner fiberglass shower pan is ideal for being fitted into a right angle corner. This is very nice for bathrooms that just are really short on space. The shape that adds to the look of this pan is the pentagonal. Apart from providing an attractive appearance, it does not stick out like a sore thumb in your plush bathroom. There is also a corner fiberglass shower pan with a seat for you to sit on. This is nice if someone needs to sit while showering but, it can be a little tougher finding the perfect spot for installing this pan.

The last one is called a L/R standard shower pan which is also made of fiberglass. This pan is in the shape of a square which makes all the sides the same height. Since everything is the same in height the water will not be guided to the middle. In order to facilitate for the escape of water out of the pan there will be an outlet located to the left or right on the pan.

Cleaning up is easy on all the pans as long as one makes sure not to use any corrosive chemicals on them. The fiberglass shower pans can become slick just like an actual shower due to the usage of soap and therefore it is imperative for the user to be cautious particularly while stepping on or off the pans so as to avoid slipping. These should be cleaned at least once a week so as to prevent the infestation of germs. Since these come in many shapes and dimensions, make sure to purchase the proper one, because modifications on these are not an option.
